Her Mom called
She rejected the call
Because the social gathering
Was more important than blood relations
Her Mom spoke
She turned the other way
Because talking to parents
Was too lame
Her Mom cooked
She went out and ate with her friends
Because food made by her Mom’s hands
Was not up to her standards
Her Mom said ‘I Love You’
She laughed and dismissed it
Because public displays of affection
Were only reserved for the boys she liked
Her Mom died
She wasn’t there to say goodbye
Her whole life ended up being
the epitome of anger, melancholy and regret
Beautiful, and straight from the heart!
